Treating erectile dysfunction with Numan: Jonny’s story
Seeking help for erectile dysfunction (ED) can be daunting. Jonny (29), a game developer from London, tells us about his experience and how Numan helped him overcome it.
When did you first start noticing symptoms of ED?
It started happening about three to four months ago. When it first started, it made me paranoid that it would happen every time I got intimate with my partner.
How did this make you feel?
I felt less confident. It had a domino effect where I’d get more and more worked up about it each time. I felt quite ashamed. After doing some research into it, I found that it's quite common among men, even of my age. This pushed me to figure out what was going on and what I could do about it.
How did you seek help?
Getting help was surprisingly easy. A friend pointed me towards Numan after seeing their ads whilst watching football. I checked it out, filled in my details and symptoms on their website, and, with the help of a Numan clinician, I found a treatment plan that suited my needs. I've been following that plan ever since. It was really straightforward.
How has Numan helped you manage ED?
It’s given me a lot more confidence in myself and with my partner. I had a few misconceptions about the treatment which Numan has explained really well. It's just given me a lot more self-belief when it comes to being intimate. I also live in a house share with other people and I didn’t want them to know about the treatment. The discreet packaging means I don’t have to worry.
What misconceptions did you have about treating ED initially?
I always thought that ED treatment would give me an erection that would never stop. That’s not the case at all. It’s just effective when I’m aroused. It hasn’t got in the way of my daily life. I take it in the morning then go about my day without any embarrassing problems. Only when I spend intimate time with my partner in the evening do the effects kick in.
Do you have any advice for anyone else experiencing ED?
I recommend speaking to your male friends. I think you'd be surprised how other men like you may be suffering from it. There's a stigma around ED, but just choose who you talk to about it. It's easier to be open with those you trust. Also, don't be afraid to do your research and reach out for help. There are solutions out there like Numan that can make a massive difference to your life.
