At Numan, we believe in empowering individuals to make informed health decisions through innovative solutions and community support. Our commitment to tackling obesity is central to this mission.
Here, we delve into how our initiatives are revolutionising obesity management and redefining the public discourse surrounding this complex issue.
Our Time for Change campaign is more than a motto; it's an actionable commitment to holistic weight management. We combine medical interventions with personalised coaching to ensure that change is both achievable and sustainable.
Obesity isn’t just a personal issue. It’s a collective challenge we need to address together. Our 2025 Total Health Challenge allows participants to make a decisive shift in their health journey. Each month, participants receive a free guide designed to inspire healthier habits, keep motivation high, and celebrate progress along the way.
Additionally, our Referral Programme encourages individuals to share their journey with friends, enhancing accountability and support. Studies show that having a partner increases the likelihood of sticking to a weight loss plan by 29%.1 With our referral system, both referrer and friend can benefit from discounts, creating a supportive community around individual health goals.
A significant part of our mission is to shift public perception. Many still see obesity as a personal failure rather than a complex condition influenced by multiple factors. Our State of Obesity report revealed that less than half of the British population recognises obesity as a disease, highlighting outdated and harmful narratives.
By fostering an open dialogue, we’re working to change these perceptions. John, one of our patients, puts it best: “I’ve realised that making a decision to improve your health isn’t something you should feel ashamed of, no matter what people think.”
Visibility is crucial in changing the narrative on obesity. Through national campaigns like our feature in The Telegraph and the Leicester Square digital billboard, we’re amplifying our mission. These campaigns are not just about awareness but about sparking a transformative shift in how society views and manages obesity.
At Numan, we’re dedicated to reimagining the approach to obesity management. By integrating medication, expert guidance, and community support, we’re committed to turning the tide against obesity.
While the recent news of a stabilisation in obesity rates in the UK is a promising start, our goal is to achieve a lasting downward trend in obesity rates. Let’s make significant strides together for a healthier future free from stigma.
