Mounjaro has changed the game when it comes to treating obesity. Clinical trials have found that when combined with positive lifestyle changes, it’s the most effective weight loss medication yet. But how does it work, and just how effective is it? Let’s take a look.

What is Mounjaro and how does it work?

It’s a weight loss medication which you inject into yourself once a week. The active ingredient in Mounjaro is tirzepatide, which works on the GIP and GLP-1 receptors in your body to hold in your hunger pangs and control your cravings. By taking Mounjaro, you’ll feel fuller for longer after meals.

You should start noticing weight loss within the first few months of treatment, but it could take up to 18 months to see the full benefits. Weight loss that really lasts takes time and patience.

Is Mounjaro effective?

In short: yes. A number of clinical studies have found that Mounjaro is effective for weight loss.

The most comprehensive study to date looked at the effects of tirzepatide (the active ingredient in Mounjaro) on 2,539 adults, some of whom received a placebo instead. It found that patients lost an average of 21% of their starting body weight after 18 months of treatment.

Another study found that tirzepatide patients lost 25.3% body weight over an 88-week treatment window.

This degree of weight loss makes Mounjaro even more effective than other weight loss medications such as Wegovy or Ozempic.

But as with any weight loss medication, Mounjaro isn’t a shortcut to sustainable weight loss. To really drive long-term success, it should be combined with positive and sustained changes to your lifestyle: a more balanced diet, an active lifestyle, a better-regulated appetite, reduced stress levels, and better quality sleep. As part of Numan’s programme, you’ll get a dedicated health coach who can give you personalised advice to help you implement these lifestyle habits and achieve results that last.

Mounjaro side effects

There are some side effects of Mounjaro to be aware of. The most commonly reported are nausea, diarrhoea, and constipation. These side effects don’t tend to be severe. They’re more common when you first start taking the medication, and when you increase your dose.

The numan take

Mounjaro is the most effective weight loss medication on the market. Several studies have been carried out on its effectiveness, with the largest finding that Mounjaro patients lost on average 21% of their body weight after 18 months of treatment. But that kind of weight loss is only achievable - and sustainable - by also making positive lifestyle changes such as a more balanced diet and regular exercise. If you can do that, long-term weight loss is within your grasp.
